Adler Display Puts its Signage and Signature

on New BACVA Inner Harbor Baltimore Visitor Center

BALTIMORE, May 7, 2004 – Adler Display (www.AdlerDisplay.com), a local company in the national spotlight for excellence and innovation in visual communications, has put its signage and signature on the new Inner Harbor Baltimore Visitor Center which opened today.

        Ron Adler, president of the business started by his father in Baltimore in 1937, said attendees at the Center’s grand opening will be greeted with the latest city and event information on displays created and installed by his company.  The displays include two high-tech ticker tape signs, state-of-the-art plasma and LCD monitors and interactive programs.

        Adler Display, he said, “worked hand-in-hand with the Baltimore Area Convention and Visitors Association (BACVA) on the display design and construction to ensure that together we are putting Baltimore’s best foot forward.

        “The idea,” Adler said, “is to draw people visiting the Inner Harbor into the Visitor Center and then dazzle them with the latest technology delivering the up-to-date information once inside.  We are very excited about this project and proud of how it promotes our hometown.”

        The ticker-tape displays at the North and South entrance vestibules of the Visitor Center provide visitors to the Inner Harbor with 24/7 information about events in and around Baltimore, and will attract them to come in to find out more, Adler said.

        In addition to the ticker-tape, Adler Display also created traditional displays and multi-media digital exhibits for the interior of the new 8,000-square-foot Center, including:

        –   a Visitor Tower, featuring two 42-inch plasma monitors broadcasting information about events around the city and area;

        –   a “Touch Baltimore” interactive program;

        –   a Baltimore Neighborhoods display, and

        –   a Baltimore Attraction exhibit, showcasing Dining and Nightlife, Sports and Recreation, Attractions and Shopping, History and Heritage, and Art and Culture, featuring six LCD displays continually updated by center personnel to provide up-to-date events information.

        “All high-tech, multi-media exhibits throughout the Center, as well as all interior and exterior signage, are linked and centrally controlled by an on-site computer,” said Adler.

        Traditional signage installations created by Adler Display for the Visitor Center include three brochure displays with large backlit photos and overhead sculptural panels, which is designed to accommodate brochures from local attractions, restaurants, hotels and more. Two Baltimore Transportation Map displays are included as well.

        Adler Display is a nationally recognized innovative leader in visual communications through trade show displays, custom display environments and presentation graphics. For more information, visit www.AdlerDisplay.com, or call 410-281-1200.
