Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America Selects Adler Display

to Create 7,250-Square Foot Exhibit for SuperCorr Expo 2004

BALTIMORE, October 13, 2004 – When industry leaders team-up, watch out . . . or in the case of Adler Display of Baltimore and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America, Inc., step right in!  That’s because Adler and Mitsubishi have worked together on a new 7,250-square foot trade show booth for use at the SuperCorr Expo 2004, which runs at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, November 8-12.

Ron Adler, president of the Baltimore-based display company (www.adlerdisplay.com) started by his father in the 1930s, said designing and building the booth for Mitsubishi “was a great challenge.

“SuperCorr (www.supercorrexpo.org) is the largest corrugated containers machinery show in the Western Hemisphere, and it was important for Mitsubishi (www.mhicorrugating.com) to be recognized as ‘a leader’ by this discerning global audience,” Adler said.  “Because the booth is a custom-configured rental exhibit, and because it is particularly large – 50 feet by 145 feet – we wanted to make certain that space was used wisely, attractively and in a way that highlighted the leadership position and qualities of our client.”

Adler said his company’s designers “put together a plan which would draw visitors into the Mitsubishi booth, and then get them to the areas they wanted and needed to see.”

At the 50-foot-wide front of the booth is a reception area and welcome counter facing the exhibit hall entrance.  The Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. name is above the welcome counter and at the far end of the exhibit on tension fabric stretched between the truss.  There are also three large logos placed at the three corners for maximum exposure, and two large rotating circular fabric banners with the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. name and logo placed in the center of the exhibit   Just behind the welcome area is a food and beverage area.

Adler said that his team of designers “fully understood that conducting business is the main reason for the exhibit and participating in the show,” and strategically placed three meeting and conference rooms – one large and two smaller – right behind the food and beverage area.  To help showcase the overall excitement and energy of the Mitsubishi booth, the meeting rooms have windows to view the equipment in the exhibit space.

The truss structure of the booth frames the exhibit space as well as serving as a vehicle to hold identification.  Areas that need to be blocked off are done with large graphics that are tensioned within the truss, with two cross members spanning the width of the exhibit space, connected along the center line of the space where the equipment is installed.  Three legs come down from the center line truss supporting large plasma monitors which show machines running.   Overhead are lights attached to the truss to light the graphics on the side of the booth where the machinery is on display.

“When we crate the Mitsubishi booth for shipment to Atlanta, suffice it to say it won’t go in the back of an SUV or a van,” Adler mused.  The display fits into 18 molded crates, 5 feet by 4 feet and 4.5 feet high.  The estimated weight, he said, is more than eight tons – 16,323 pounds!

“It’s all worth it,” Adler said.  “This is a one-of-a-kind, a unique custom-configured rental exhibit for an industry leader at a great show.  We know the folks coming to see Mitsubishi at SuperCorr Expo 2004 will be dazzled. ”
