 Adler Display was On the Ball, On the Courts & Everywhere Else

With Signage Throughout 2004 US Open at USTA Tennis Center

BALTIMORE, Oct. 25, 2004 – Last month, more than 633,000 people from around the globe came to the U.S. Open at the USTA National Tennis Center in New York City, the No. 1 annual sporting event in the world in overall attendance. Whether those fans watched men’s champ Roger Federer, women’s winner Svetlana Kuznetsova or any of the other hundreds of other players, one thing they surely saw was great signage – “seemingly everywhere” at the Open – from Adler Display (www.adlerdisplay.com) of Baltimore.

“Yes, it’s fair to say that Adler aced the Open,” said Ron Adler, president of the company his father started in 1937.  “Our signs and displays (http://adlerdisplay.com/us-open-gallery.htm)  were seemingly everywhere on behalf of our clients, including the United States Tennis Association (USTA) itself, as well as clothing designers and manufacturers Fila® and Lacoste®.”

Adler Display’s wide range of display products and capabilities allowed it to provide a myriad of products to the USTA, include:

         –    Window graphics, nearly 40 in all, for retail store windows at the Open;

         –    A giant 60-Square foot (10-feet high by 6-feet wide) banner for retail promotion;

         –    A 6-foot exterior backlit graphic used as the sign for the official US Open store;

         –    Four 8.5-feet wide backlit signs for Chase® kiosks on the Open grounds;

         --    50-plus official US Open logo graphics applied to the back walls of tennis courts, prominently displayed and viewed for more than 100 hours on TV in the U.S. and by tennis fans around the world.  The official US Open logos were produced as cut vinyl graphics, varying from 4-feet to 6-feet in width.  In addition, smaller logos were also produced for installation on windows.

         --    A double-sided “Welcome Sign” for the V.I.P. entrance to the grounds.

         --    Over 70 miscellaneous point of purchase graphics around the Open’s grounds.

For Fila, Adler Display produced and installed:

         --    Custom window display case graphics, which included a set of 23 double-sided graphic panels approximately 40-inches. Each graphic was precision routed to fit custom acrylic display cases. These were used to showcase clothing, shoes, and hats in the FILA 2004 U.S. Open Store.

         --    A similar set of graphic panels to fit existing interior display cases, which were fabricated with 6-inch openings to reveal products on shelves, and

         --    A life-size 6-foot graphic of semi-finalist Jennifer Capriati, which was laminated, mounted on ¼” sintra  & profile cut, for Fila’s on-site retail store.

And for Lacoste, Adler produced and installed:

         -- 2 Custom exterior banner stands with vinyl logo graphics.

“Our signs were everywhere,” Adler said, “and it made us very proud.  Adler was very much on the ball at the Open with a net result of lots and lots of positive exposure for our client companies!”
