Project of the Month: U.S. Army Command Headquarters-PS

Adler Display proudly transformed a dated lobby and corridor into a sophisticated, high-tech environment for an elite U.S. Army unit responsible for military communications and information technology.

The comprehensive makeover seamlessly integrated modern design elements while addressing practical challenges such as concealing utility fixtures and creating an atmosphere befitting a two-star military command headquarters.

The centerpiece of the transformation includes:

  • A striking Dimensional Map Wall featuring routed state outlines illuminated by edge-lit LEDs
  • A Commander’s Vision Display wall incorporating silver aluminum mesh and LED lighting
  • Interactive elements enhance the space through two key installations: an information kiosk displaying command news and events and a 65″ touchscreen system showcasing the chain of command

The project extends beyond the main lobby, including several meaningful installations throughout the space. A 13-foot-wide feature wall showcases the command’s crest among wood slats, while a dedicated Fallen Soldiers Memorial Wall honors the command’s heroes.

The renovation was completed turnkey, from initial design concepts through fabrication, interactive programming, and installation, including coordinated flooring replacement. Strategic use of materials like Chemetal laminate, acrylic photo panels, and dimensional letters created a cohesive, professional atmosphere that exceeded the client’s expectations for a modern military command center.

To complete this project, we were fortunate to receive support from two members of the Baltimore Pacesetters Chapter and a former member of the Pacesetters D.C. Chapter. We consulted with ADG Creative, Sheldon & Son’s Painting, and Carpet Fair’s Commercial Flooring, each bringing valuable expertise. ADG provided essential knowledge in government contracting. Evan Davis and Linda Rochelle offered advice when we faced challenges submitting our bid through the government System for Award Management portal. Sheldon & Son’s, a trusted partner on previous projects, painted the lobby and corridor. Carpet Fair’s Commercial Flooring Division expertly installed new carpet and vinyl baseboard molding throughout.

We are honored to have contributed to the success of this elite unit and look forward to more innovative projects in the future.
