How We Rebranded Saft America’s Office in Four Weeks
Your office makes an impression before your team says a word. Does it reflect the company you are today?
For advanced battery manufacturer Saft America, an upcoming corporate meeting brought that question into focus. The company wanted its Hunt Valley, Maryland headquarters to reflect the same visual identity as its corporate offices in Bordeaux, France for an upcoming leader meeting. Executives and guests arriving from overseas needed to encounter one recognizable global brand.
There were just four weeks to make it happen.
Saft turned to Adler Display, a partner of more than 25 years with them, to design, fabricate and install an updated branded environment before the meeting began.
The Challenge: Bring a Global Brand Into a Local Workspace
Saft’s workplace needed to communicate the same precision and professionalism as the company behind it.
The assignment went beyond adding a logo to a wall. Adler needed to translate the visual standards of Saft’s Bordeaux offices into environmental graphics, branded wall features and messaging suited to the Hunt Valley facility.
Two priorities shaped every decision:
-
Create a consistent experience. The Maryland location needed to feel connected to Saft’s global identity.
-
Be ready when the doors opened. Design, approvals, fabrication and installation had to fit within approximately four weeks.
That required a clear design direction and a team that could carry it through production.
From Brand Standards to Branded Walls
A successful office branding project connects a company’s identity with the physical space people use every day. Scale, placement and sightlines all influence how that identity comes across.
For Saft, Adler’s designer adapted the Bordeaux visual direction to the Hunt Valley environment, developing graphics and branded features for the facility’s own walls and layout. The scope brought together environmental graphics, integrated brand messaging and wall features to create a more unified setting for employees, leadership and visitors.
The goal was straightforward: make the U.S. headquarters feel unmistakably Saft.
One Coordinated Team, From Design Through Installation
With the meeting date locked in, there was no room for handoffs that stall a project, like a design waiting on a fabricator or a fabricator waiting on answers. Adler kept design, fabrication and installation under one coordinated team, led by a single project manager. Three people carried the work from start to finish:
| Team member | Responsibility |
|---|---|
| Project Manager | Owned the schedule, client communication and every deadline leading up to the meeting |
| Designer | Adapted Saft’s Bordeaux visual standards to fit the Hunt Valley space |
| Exhibit Detailer | Turned approved designs into build-ready specifications for fabrication |
Most projects bring in the detailer after the design is approved, and that’s where surprises show up: materials that won’t work, dimensions that need rework and approvals that have to happen twice. At Saft, the detailer was at the table from day one, so every creative decision was already buildable by the time it was signed off.
That’s what made four weeks realistic. No step had to be redone, and no step had to wait.
Why This Office Rebrand Could Move Quickly
Every workplace project has its own requirements. Three advantages helped make Saft’s four-week transformation possible:
-
- An Established Visual Direction. Saft’s Bordeaux offices provided a defined reference point. The team could focus on adapting an existing brand environment to a different facility. For organizations planning an office refresh, this is a useful starting point: gather current brand standards, examples from other locations and a clear list of the spaces that need attention.
-
- A 25-Year Partnership—and Firsthand Knowledge of the Space. Adler had spent more than 25 years working with Saft, including installing previous branded environment elements at its Hunt Valley facility. The team already understood the space, how the existing displays fit within it and what needed to be reshaped to reflect the updated global brand. That firsthand knowledge, combined with established relationships with Saft’s facilities maintenance team, helped Adler move quickly from evaluating the existing environment to planning its transformation.
-
- Design and Fabrication Expertise Working Together. The project’s core team included the person responsible for turning designs into build-ready specifications. Addressing production requirements early helped keep the work moving from concept toward installation.
Not every project starts with all three advantages in place. Knowing which ones you already have, and which ones a partner can provide, is one of the best ways to set a realistic timeline for your own office rebrand.
Ready for the Meeting—and the Workdays After It
Adler delivered the project ahead of Saft’s corporate meeting. When executives and guests arrived, the Hunt Valley headquarters reflected the same brand identity as the Bordeaux offices, with updated graphics and messaging that told one consistent story.
Plus, the impact didn’t end when the meeting did. The new branding is now part of the everyday workplace, so employees and future visitors experience the same Saft identity every time they walk in.
“It was a pleasure partnering with Adler Display during the Saft rebranding initiative.
