University of Maryland College Park recently completed renovations in the Mitchell Building, creating a dedicated space for the Office of Student Affairs.
This was the first time the University would have all (16) departments represented in one building, so the group wanted a creative, inclusive interior solution. They contacted Adler Display for help.
Before renovations were completed, we were brought in to design and produce a feature wall. The space selected was a 20-foot wide area located directly in front of the elevators. The client wanted something that represented the University’s new “Fearlessly Forward” branding and emphasized their inclusive message, “Every Student Thrives,” along with photos that would not quickly seem dated.
They also requested that we include a listing of all of their departments, keeping in mind that the names may change and new departments will be added, so it needed to be a flexible solution. To accommodate this need, we produced the names in cut vinyl graphics so they could be easily removed and updated.
To bring their new brand message to life, we produced a series of alternating-depth Formica laminated wood panels, ranging from 1/2″- 2″ deep. Dimensional letters and graphics were added to help further capture the brand.
