Project Spotlight: JPMorgan Chase Architectural Art Installation

Apr 15, 2026 | Articles, Project of the Month

The Problem

JPMorgan Chase was establishing its Mid-Atlantic headquarters inside D.C.’s historic Bowen Building. Studios Architecture envisioned a series of distinctive environmental graphics that pushed far beyond conventional signage — intricate, multi-layered millwork, precise custom routing, and natural elements like preserved moss. The challenge was finding a fabrication partner with the craftsmanship, technical fluency, and project management capability to translate complex CAD specifications into reality without compromising a single detail.

The Solution

Adler Display delivered a turnkey solution from technical design and development through final installation, serving as the bridge between Studios’ creative vision and the physical environment. Adler fabricated and installed a coordinated series of custom environmental graphics. Four signature installations are highlighted below:

  • Entrance Portal: Black MDF structure with a 6′ diameter circular frame. Preserved moss surrounds. White dimensional acrylic letters are applied directly to the wall.
  • D.C. Homes — Mirrored Acrylic: Layered ¾” black MDF panels, recessed Potomac River outline on Formica mirrored aluminum laminate, surrounded by preserved moss.
  • D.C. Homes — Preserved Moss Wall: Custom-routed black MDF houses in three ¾” layers, cleat-mounted to the wall. Recessed areas filled with live preserved moss.
  • D.C. Road Map Wall: Custom-routed layered black MDF roads. Recessed areas finished with Formica Mirror aluminum laminate for contrast and depth.

The Result

A refined, visually striking headquarters environment that reflects JPMorgan Chase’s innovation and prestige, honoring the bank’s identity while complementing the Bowen Building’s historic character.

Each installation achieved a rare balance of artistry and technical mastery, blending preserved moss with sleek modern finishes and banking-grade precision craftsmanship.

The collaboration with Rand Construction and Studios Architecture earned recognition in Interior Design magazine and established Adler as a trusted partner for complex, high-stakes environmental design. A second installation followed.
