Some hallways are just hallways. This one tells a 500-year story.
Adler Display partnered with the Basilica School of Saint Mary to transform the Saint Margaret of Scotland corridor into an immersive, museum-quality installation — one that honors the school’s extraordinary legacy and traces the roots of Catholic education in the New World.
The Challenge
As the oldest continuously operating Catholic school in the Diocese of Arlington, the Basilica School carries a story worth telling well. The school envisioned a chronological journey through centuries of faith and learning, one that would complement the corridor’s existing architecture and an adjacent wrap mural, while honoring the history it represents.
The Solution
Adler Display developed a cohesive system of custom acrylic panels and large-format murals, drawing colors and visual motifs directly from the school’s own seal to create an aesthetic that feels both timeless and distinctly theirs. Durable print techniques and refined mounting hardware give the installation a clean, gallery-quality finish that holds its own in a historic setting.
The narrative unfolds from early monastic and missionary education, through the school’s 1869 founding and the formative work of the Sisters of the Holy Cross, to decades of growth, integration, and modernization, culminating in the school’s present-day identity and mission.
The Impact
The finished installation is more than décor. It’s a living piece of the school’s culture. Students pass through it daily. Families encounter it with pride. Visitors leave with a deeper understanding of what it means to be part of a community shaped by over 150 years of purpose.
A hallway, transformed. A legacy, preserved. Saints, Stewards, and Scholars, then and now.
