Project of the Month: Catonsville Elementary School

Oct 18, 2016 | Project of the Month

Adler Display was contacted by Rubeling & Associates, a division of JMT, to create a historical timeline for Catonsville Elementary School as part of a larger renovation project. The new school at Bloomsbury opened in Fall 2016. To create the timeline spanning more than 200 years, we met regularly with a committee comprised of community members, teachers, school administrators, and staff from Baltimore County Public Libraries. It took several months to narrow down topics and themes for the timeline while our design team created layouts for the display.

Our design team faced the task of creating a timeline with enough information to cover several time periods and themes, while keeping it appropriate for school-aged children. They incorporated lots of color and images to suit the intended audiences. The historical timeline includes a few artifacts that can be switched out as needed and a dedication plaque honoring those who contributed to the project.
