Adler Display partnered with the University of Maryland School of Medicine (UMSOM) to transform the lobby and entrance of the Bressler Research Building into a vibrant, branded, and meaningful space that celebrates the institution’s legacy and future.
A central feature of the renovation is a powerful tribute to the contributions of women in medicine and science at UMSOM. This historic timeline was designed to inspire students, faculty, staff, and guests by highlighting trailblazing women who helped shape the field. The display was produced using direct printing on textured Aluminum Composite Panels, mounted to the mezzanine railing with custom “U” fasteners and rare-earth magnets for a clean, modern finish.
In addition to the timeline, Adler modernized the existing Dean’s display, honoring the past 30 Deans of UMSOM. This installation features custom maple panels with inlaid silver laminate arranged in a helix pattern, creating a sophisticated and contemporary tribute.
To enhance the overall environment and improve wayfinding, Adler designed and installed custom maple surrounds for the entrance columns, stained to match existing finishes. Custom stanchions with acrylic graphic infills and a refreshed logo installation behind the security desk help guide visitors while reinforcing UMSOM’s brand identity. Colorful graphic panels were also added to the main staircase to energize the space and bring in visual warmth.
Together, these elements form a unified and engaging experience that reflects UMSOM’s rich history, celebrates its community, and supports its mission moving forward.
